S.S. Opal Twist Rings

Faceted, oval cut opal from Ethiopia in a twisted sterling silver band. Opal is October birthstone.    Opals are comprised of hydrated silica and typically contain 6-10% water. However Ethiopian opals can have up to 21% water content. They form during the acidic weathering of rocks, or precipitate from water-rich fluids containing silica which fill cracks in rocks.
